One of the most prolific Slovenian composers, Drago Ivanuša, and his solo piano project, La Bête humaine / The Human Beast, which presents a musical view of the times we live in and the position of the individual in a world full of tension. The reference to the 1938 Jean Renoir’s film La Bête humaine (a screen version of Émile Zola’s novel La Bête humaine) is not coincidental. The current times bear astonishing resemblance to the times when the film La Bête humaine was made.

The LP contains 12 compositions with improvised parts, energetic textures full of harmonics and polyrhythms. Ivanuša’s music is expressive, eclectic and unpredictable. He makes good use of his experience in theatre and film, which gives his music a strong, exact dramaturgy and exciting content.

Which was also an inspiration for the LP cover design and video teaser, that has been computer generated by the one of the songs on the LP - 1948.
